During the summer of 2024, Sebastian and his father embarked on a journey through Italy. While there, Sebastian overheard a conversation between his father and a friend regarding the treatment of children with cancer at two nearby Catholic hospitals. They mentioned that approximately 1,000 children receive treatment annually. These words profoundly impacted the young boy.
The following day, as they traveled to Rome, Sebastian's father decided to stop at a toy store, knowing his son's fondness for stuffed animal toys. After selecting two plush toys, Sebastian embraced them joyfully, but his expression soon turned to curiosity.
He looked up at his father and inquired, “What if many people donated toys like these to children in the hospital? Wouldn’t that make them happy?” His father reminded him that generosity begins with oneself. He asked Sebastian, “Who do you think should make the first donation?” Sebastian promptly replied, “I will.”
Right then, Sebastian used his own little savings to purchase the first toy to be given to a child affected by cancer. Subsequently, he encouraged his father to do the same.
They discussed this idea throughout the afternoon, and by evening, Sebastian had conceived the name "Moments of Joy."
We now extend an invitation to you to join Sebastian in this compassionate mission to bring joy into the lives of children battling cancer. It takes so little from us to make a significant impact on the lives of those in need of hope.
